Strong Attendance at the Smithsonian
The Smithsonian Institution boasted fantastic visitation in Oct. 2008, as noted above, with large increases in attendance at both the National Air and Space Museum and National Museum of Natural History. The recently renovated National Museum of American History hosted more than 85,800 visitors over Thanksgiving weekend, almost three times as many people as visited in the same period in 2005, before the museum closed for renovation.
