Reception at DC GuestHouse The Destination DC media
relations team hosted a reception for some of DC’s media elite at DC GuestHouse
on Aug. 4. Local media from outlets including Washington Business Journal,
Washington Examiner, and Black Enterprise were represented,
in addition to several top freelance writers. The reception provided an opportunity
for Destination DC staff to speak one-on-one with attendees about DC's
upcoming events and hot topics in the coming year. Partner: DC GuestHouse
Legg Mason Tennis Classic Hospitality Suite During
the Legg Mason Tennis Classic at the Fitzgerald Tennis Center in Rock Creek Park,
Destination DC hosted members and clients at their hospitality suite during the
matches on Aug. 4 and 6. Attendees watched top matches between tennis superstars
such as Andy Roddick, defending champion Juan Martin Del Potro, and former champion James Blake.
The Color Purple at The John F. Kennedy Center
for the Performing Arts Destination DC, the Walter E. Washington Convention
Center, and 30 customers attended Broadway’s smash hit "The Color Purple"
starring Fantasia Barrino on Aug. 4. Mie N Yu hosted the pre-event reception and
Capital City Limousine provided transportation to and from the performance. Partners:
Capital City Limousine, Mie N Yu, Walter E. Washington Convention Center
Welcome Reception at The Dupont Hotel On Aug. 10,
Destination DC Board of Directors, Executive Team, industry leaders and customers
honored Elliott Ferguson's appointment as the new President and CEO of Destination
DC at a welcome reception at The Dupont Hotel. The reception was held in the hotel's
recently opened event space, Level 9. A special thanks to The Dupont Hotel for hosting the event.
Gay Games Rally Nearly 1,000 Metropolitan
Washington Gaymes, Team DC athletes, artists, performers, cheerleaders, sports
supporters, Destination DC staff and DC City officials, gathered at Stead Park
on Aug. 10 for a rally to support DC in their bid to host the 2014 Gay Games.
The games would bring 12,000 athletes, 80,000 visitors, 15 cultural events and
eight days of sports competitions to the District. Destination DC's Elliott Ferguson
was a featured speaker at the rally. |
